Expenses when buying a car?!

obviously we are looking into buying a car.

what expenses do i have to consider besides the buying price

(1) Price

(2) GST

(3) Warrenty

(4) Rego

(5) Insurance ( if you want TFT or Comp)

Registration is about $600-700 a year, but can be taken out for 3 or 6 months

Check this one out for car insurance, its not who I'm with but have been told by quite a few it is very competitive

We paid $480 last year, just renewed with Budget direct for $280.

For car insurance check out Allianz and SGIC too - we found Allianz cheaper by at least $100.

Can I please just have a few definitions clarified:

 

Car expences:

I ust need a little bit of clarify on GST and warrenty do they apply to a second hand car being purchased for around $5000?

gst is stamp duty.if you buy a car from a dealer between $3000 and $6000 they have to give you a basic warranty for 2 months or 3000km or thereabouts.probably plenty of "exclusions"though

if your after a cheap run around try brian thredgold at brighton.always good for a deal and top fella.
