Hi everyone,

Just wanting some reviews for Hallett Cove school as I am in the middle of deciding on a High School. I have heard mixed reviews and cannot go on one final review.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Both my boys are at the R-12. I also had mixed reviews about the school. My eldest was at Grammar in the UK which he hated, my youngest was due to start at Grammar school last September. Charlie who is 14 loves the school he has settled in really well and is enjoying school life. His first report last year was not brilliant but the one just before Easter was much better. Harry my youngest is 12 and has never liked school and probably never will , but they have been fantastic with him and have gone out of their way to help him settle in. it's not been easy for him or them I'm sure!!

We went to Parents evening on Tuesday and to be honest I was a bit apprehensive, but all but one of the teachers we met we thought were really good, and both boys have been precicted A's and Bs for the end of the term which is great news. Harry's form teacher even said how much happier Harry has been this term.

I'm sure that others will have a different opinion to me,which is fair enough, but so far we have been happy with what we have seen. Everyone is different though, so what is right for one will not be right for another. Go with your gut feeling is the best advice I think.

Thanks

We have been here over a year and also went to Grammar school in the UK. I loved it and wished I could pick it up and move it over here but unfortunately I can't.

It is good to hear a review from a parent from Hallett Cove

my son is in reception year in this school and he absolutly loves it!

we went to see 2 schools and they both gave us a great tour but we all felt better about the r-12 school!

and so far they have been excellent!

they have always time to answer all my silly questions and everyone is just so friendly.

i was a bit worried because it's such a big school but now he gets to interact with year12's because they do a childcare program. or in recess he gets to see year 5's who play boardgames with them.

the main thing for me is that HE loves it and loves going!

My daughter was in a grammar school back in the UK. Because of her academic work we were able to secure a place for her at Aberfoyle High (15 mins away) on the IGNITE programe.

So far we are really impressed with the school and the work is about on a par as to what she had back in the UK. Luckily for us they had places in her year group.

Hallett Cove would have been our next choice as I have only heard good reports on this school.

Good luck,

Bex

Hi,

We are moving July 2012 and so far we have been looking at Hallett Cove R - 12. Our oldest son (who is has just started Y7 in the UK) is quite badly dyslexic and I was wondering if anyone had any info of how the school deal with students with learning difficulties.

Our youngest (just going into Y4 in the UK) reallt wants to go to a R - 12 school for a bit of moral support from his big brother.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

Hi Ang,

I am currently in Year 8 at Hallett Cove R-12. Although I am not dyslexic, they as a school cater for every need, with curriculum support in lessons and extra inschool help. It is a very diverse and overall a great friendly school with a strict policy for bullying.

Hope this Helped
