Hi yep many will come round and give you a free quote and advice in general.

Although it is time consuming I am getting 4 to visit, contacted 2 others who seemed happy enough to do it via e-mail...needless to say I wont be using them! :)

Im asking Whites, Doree Bonna, Anglo Pacific and one other (cant remember!!)

Hi Von

I used to work for Doree Bonner in Corsham and know the General Manager very well. They have good links with the shipping lines so are therefore able to offer a very competitive rate. You will be asked to take out Marine Insurance on top of your quote for shpping the container which is usually 2.5% of the value of your goods. (it was 5 yrs ago not sure how much now) If you say that your other quotes are offering say 1% less I am sure they would match it to get the business. It is worth negotiating the cost too of the container - as long as it wasnt hundreds of pounds out I am pretty sure they would match to a lower quote. Whites & Anglo also have a good reputation but remember they are a few miles away so they will be adding fuel on to price. The only advice I would give is that occasionally when staff are on holiday they may use somebody from an agency - so I would stipulate that you want their best export packer/wrapper on your job to ensure that is is properly packed & wrapped.

Hi,

We are moving in August and have had quotes from Pickfords and Doree Boner in Corsham. Doree Boner were slightly cheaper but seemed a little more interested so all things being well then they will get the business!

Hi

We Are in Melksham not a million miles away from you!Hoping to get to Adelaide next year but who knows!!!I do think Bonners give that bit of extra attention whilst with Pickfords you are just a name in the book to them!Good Luck with everything - so wish I was in your position!
