To be honest mate Taperoo isnt the most desirable area going around. A guy who i used to work with lived there and he said there were a few hassles with a certain race that has lived here a lot longer than we have!!

Having worked there for a short time, I can certainly think of better places.

Having said that other may disagree with my sentiment.

Like most areas it has its problems with low cost housing and social issues, which include drinking petrol grog and beating each other up with sticks.

However check the neighbours out, ensure its got locks on the windows and that you are insured.

I also know a senior Offficer who lives in that area, and he gets no trouble. Havign said that he takes a radio home, what can go wrong.

Welcome down under

I worked in and around Taperoo for some years.

If I remember it correctly, Military Rd is very much the dingo fence of Taperoo. The further towards Lady Gowrie Drive (North Haven) towards the water, the nicer, whereas the closer to Victoria Rd to the west, the more likely you are to have demographically related problems.

Drive up the neighbouring streets, look for lounge suites on the porch or broken down cars :-). Or try searching closer to Semaphore (not Semaphore Pk, same problem).

It's true, most areas have good and bad bits but if you know how to spot Housing Trust estates and keep clear of those you will do well.

I'm partial to the South myself (Seaford/Moana/Pt Noarlunga). We have hills and beach together and way less of the specific problem described herein.

Hope this helps
