We are still looking for somewhere to rent, we are near Semaphore Road, in Military Road. Does anyone have any idea what Le Fevre High School is like, we are looking around Semaphore, West Lakes area.

Hi - We have been in Largs Bay for 10 months and are loving it!! We went to see Le Fevre for our daughter who was then in Year 9. It was OK but not anywhere near as good as the high school that my daughter went to in the UK. We ended up going down the private route and sending her to Mount Carmel. This was a big mistake and we have now had to move her again! She is now attending Immanuel College down in Novar Gardens and travels approx 1 hour there and back each day. The school is amazing but very expensive. Unfortunately up here on the peninsula there isn't a 'good' public school. If you can try and look at Seaton High and Henley High which both have quite good reputations.

I'm not trying to sound negative and I know that these are just opinions I am presenting but I wish that someone had been more honest with me about Mount Carmel before I sent my daughter there! Since I have met more people there seems to be a general feeling that Le Fevre High doesn't have a very good reputation! And I haven't met one person that would send their child there!

I hope this helps and hasn't made you decision even more difficult!

Just wanted to give another opinion on Le Fevre. Our daughter has just started there and loves it. It wasn't the school we chose but she didn't get in to the one we wanted as there were no places so has ended up at Le Fevre. She is in the SHIP class which is for high achievers and say's her teachers are fantastic and has made a lovely group of friends in her first week there. She was in a very good high school in the uk before we moved over here but she has said that this school is better. In the end any high school is full of teenagers and you will get a mix of good and bad where ever you go. I would say go and look at all the schools with an open mind, since we have been here and made friends with other families who have children in different public high schools we have become aware that all the schools have some problems with certain children and teachers as they probably do everywhere.
