THATS WHERE WE HIT A PROB CANT GET MEDS DONE TILL 18TH MAY DEADLINE 19TH MAY. CALLED AGENT AND SHE SAID NOT TO WORRY THEY WILL APPLY FOR AN EXTENSION ON DEADLINE ONCE POLICE CHECKS BEEN SENT. IT ALL OR NOTHING WITH THIS PROCESS. BUT HEY ITS ALL BEEN WORTH IT.:D

Great news.

I t only takes about 3 weeks to receive your visa after meds.

Hope all goes well.

 

We have just booked our flights tonight for Sept 4 2011.

Where about in Adelaide are you heading for.

Strange questions,but I was wondering how many went for medicals before receiving CO? Have only lodged on 14/04/11,but enquired in the meantime about dates for medicals and there is quite a long waiting list!

Any response?

Congratulations - got ours yesterday and are having the same problem with the meds - it's all these bank holidays. At this stage I am sure like us you just want it to happen without any further delays.

Strange questions,but I was wondering how many went for medicals before receiving CO? Have only lodged on 14/04/11,but enquired in the meantime about dates for medicals and there is quite a long waiting list!

Our agent advised us not to have our medicals or police checks before getting a CO as your visa validation is normally 12months from your police checks/medicals (whichever one is first). So if you had to wait a while for a CO you would have less time to activate your visa.

We where told to wait for co aswell. bit stressed yesturday as we cant get meds until 18th may in manchester and our deadline is then, tried all other panel docs and they where all the same, due to bank hol doctors on holiday. Our agent said not to worry as they wil apply for an extension when we have submitted our police checks.

Thanks for your response, I understand what you are saying re the validation. Time is not always on my side, being South African, we have to wait between 8-10 weeks for police checks, if you are one of the fortunate ones!!!!

Congratulations! Feels good doesn't it? After what seems like a life time of limbo to actually see an end to the process and a start to your new life.

 

Our medicals are booked for the day after the deadline, couldn't be taken any sooner. Our agent said that was ok as long as they were booked within 28 days.

 

And yes, it will be all worth it! This is going to be some party when we all get there. We have been looking at Aldinga Beach, but as the kids will go to Seaford High we might end up near there too.

Thanks for that pleased to see we are not the only ones who found it hard to get meds, i phoned up all of the panel docs and they where all busy. And yes it sure will be one hell of a party good luck...

Booked our meds today - 3 days before our deadline, phew! It's lovely (although I know it doesn't feel that way) to see that its the same for everyone. After all the ups and downs over the last year things are now moving at a pace, but there is always that worry that the visa wont come. We don't know where we are going yet but SA does look gourgeous. As soon as we get the visa we are booking flights to do some homework. All being well we will move permanently in January.

well agent sent us the email from diac confirming we have a case officer stating they have now started work on our application submitted in 2009 for a 175. phoned agent to ask about it they said diac not updated paper work and it should be 176. OK well just downloaded med froms and they have all names and visa details on them and where it states which visa we going for it states a 175 ???

We had a smiliar problem. Couldn't book the meds in time. Don't worry - inform your CO of when the meds are and it will be fine. Sent ours off - now just waiting. Good luck :chatterbox:
