Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced dentist and also a doctor (pref bulk billing), around Paradise, Newton, Athelstone areas?

Many thanks.

Hi

We live in Campbelltown, but I go to a surgery in Salisbury Heights. it's only because one of the doctor is Indonesian the same country as me. He bulks bill.

For the dentist, recently I went to Personal DentalCare in Gilles Plains Shopping Center, in the corner of Nort East Road. It's because I was registered as member of Smile Dental, a kind of "insurance" where you have to be a member and got a discount for the treatment.

kind regards

I take the kids to the dentist that's in the same set of shops as Tony and Marks in Newton. Don't know their charges I'm afraid as the kids get the Medicare Teen Voucher which they accept there for an annual checkup, but they seem very nice. Doctors - you could try the big place on North East Road, Modbury - think it's called the Modbury Medical and Dental Centre! (here it is https://plus.google.com/101776514513386268309/about?gl=au&hl=en) or see if Highbury Medical Centre is accepting new registrations -they do bulk bill but they charge a gap (about $25 for adults - not sure if anything for kids)

I didn't like the Highbury Medical centre. I tried it cos we lived pretty much round the corner. they have a lot of student doctors there, and I found, definitely when taking my children, they were too inexperienced and weren't what I wanted when I visit the doctor. Which is generally someone who in their experience will make a medical judgement about something instead of textbook questions. I know there must be good doctors there else they wouldn't be a university practice, so maybe if you go there make sure you are seeing a regular doctor, and not a registrar, or whatever the students are called.

Isn't it funny how people's experiences can differ? I have never once seen a student doctor in there, and have been going for over eight years. There is a good mix of doctors - male and female, old and young - and I've seen a few different ones as I don't really care who I see, but my teenaged daughter struck up a very good relationship with one of the younger female ones there, who always went above and beyond the call of duty for our family. My only gripe with them is the gap charge, but I have always been extremely impressed with their knowledge and standards.
