Cost of schooling.

Hi Guys,

 

I'm looking into coming over on a student visa with my family next year. My question is that i've heard conflicting things about the cost of education for children there, mine will be 9/7/4 at that point, can anyone tell me what the cost would be for them to go to scool?

hi school fees vary from one school to another, but to give you a rough idea, for primary school for the year the fee was $214 per child, for high school the fee was $285 for the year, if you earn under a certain amount you can apply for the School Card which basically pays the fees for you :-)

this is for state schools, not private tho....

All the info you need is here. Your children are classed as International students when enrolled in state schools. You pay the fees set out by the government.

 

If you send your children to private schools, then you pay the private school fees plus an international student component to cover the funding the school receives for an Australian child.

Being on a student Visa will only allow you to work 20 hours a week I believe, so you need to do a lot of juggling, Jugglingmum.
