Movecube

Our move cube has just left. It took us 2.5 hours to pack. We were as organised as we could have been. Had taped the size off and planned most of where everything was to go. After 4 weeks of sorting and packing it's amazing how I can feel my stress levels going down lol. Can now sort out for Xmas and come January sell remainder of our stuff and rent out the house if not sold. Woohoo we arrive on 17th February.

Hi Karenbfam

That's great, must be a weight off your mind,We cant wait to do the same. Did you have a large one? and did you have to write down all box contents just for your own reference of did they request you to do this? Im worried we are not going to fit everything in the large one. Did you use there insurance, just out of interest. Good luck, we are hoping to head out mid March X

Caz and Ian - there is paperwork to fill out. You'll need to list the boxes and furniture etc on the forms, brief breakdown if the contents not fully intimidated. Plus number the boxes and put the ones likely to be inspected in last so they can easily see them.

I had a full breakdown for our use.

It's worth either drawing a scale plan and measuring everything up do you know what will be going where (and if you are like us buying boxes in 2 exact sizes so it all stacks in perfectly. Or taping out the floor space and putting it all in there.

They hold a lot but if you are bringing furniture then that will eat into your space. You really should do a an or dummy run a bit in advance so you have an idea. Any odd boxes left over can be shipped separately so it's not a biggie.

Hi Caz and Ian

yes we had a large move cube. Just like snifter says we planned the large furniture. We bought vacuum bags (ordered on line from Asda) for clothes and bedding. We ordered large rolls of bubble wrap and 12 rolls of parcel tape (all of which we used) on line. We were lucky that we were given new boxes in 2 sizes so they stacked well. I bought sticky labels which I put on each item to correspond with paperwork and listed contents. We packed the vacuum bags into the furniture and again numbered the furniture and wrote down the contents. All shoes I cleaned with bleach wipes and the boxes of these together with the golf clubs were packed last so if needed could be inspected. We sent ours early so that if we couldn't fit it all in could have a small cube or boxes sent just before we leave. Don't think we will need it though as fitted in all what we needed. We didn't take out their insurance. We managed to get in a large 3 door sideboard, 2 king size bed frames and mattresses. 2 bedside drawers and 2 chest of drawers. Nest of tables and lamp table. 2 sets of golf clubs. Clothes shoes and bedding. Kitchen equipment including microwave. Large vases and pictures. Boxes of ornaments, photos and sentimental stuff. 6 lamps and shades. I think that's everything. We were concerned about weight as limit is 1500kg and with heavy wooden furniture we had no idea what it would weigh but on invoice it says 1380kg so all ok.

Planning is the key and beware it gets a bit stressful. Good luck.

Hopefully I have attached photos of the cube

I got our 3 seater and 2 seater, king size mattress and bed frame, 2 single mattresses, bikes and about 30 boxes, the large one is about the same size of a long wheel base high roof Renault traffic van, well worth the money and arrived on time , and every thing in one piece, they did check the shoes so make sure they are clean
