Maternity care at flinders

Congratulations! Don't worry too much about being an older Mum, I had my kids late in life and was lucky enough to sail through both pregnancies with no problems at all.

One thing I do remember was being told to be careful with cat's poo and gardening as there is some rare disease you can pick up which is harmful to the baby. I googled it and it is toxoplasmosis - see here http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/toxoplasmosis.html - Nothing to worry about just sensible precautions.

Thanks very much. I was tested for that before we started trying, as if you have already had it you don't need to worry about catching it. I have three cats and always had cats growing up. I ate carrots straight out the ground, I love my meat rare (your more likely to get it from rare meat than cats) so I was flabbergasted when they said I've never had it.

My partner is now on cat litter duty for the next 8 months. :-D
