Hi all, looking for some heads up on a reputable Kinder, also a reputable state primary school and the same again for a state high school all accessible from the general Mt Barker area? Considering moving there, and have 4 girls of varying ages.

Cheers in advance. Caren

You can use this to find schools in the area. It also gives an indication of English and maths achieved but don't take it as a given or anything.

You can view rankings based on schools or area or list up to 5 to compare. Each school will then have a page and links to its own website so you can read more about the school etc.

Are you specifically wanting a separate village/town out in the hills or just a leafy type area? I'll assume as you mentioned Mount Barker you want a separate town rather than a suburb of Adelaide. For somewhere out in the hills you could also try Handorf or Stirling. I don't know either that well but they are both on the freeway on the way to Mount Barker. Not sure any of them are 30 minutes from Adelaide CBD though, but I've never driven the route so couldn't really be sure.

We like Stirling, Bridgwater and Aldgate. We are looking at those areas to buy in. All small lovely towns just up in the hills, all close together. Check which schools are zoned for where. Some excellent primary schools locally there. Then iirc high schools are down the hill in the eastern suburbs close by and generally good/excellent (again, check zones carefully). Not sure if there is a high school up there covering those towns.

Also Coromandel Valley and a few suburbs nearby, though they can get pricey.

I love Stirling too and Stirling East Primary seems to be a real good school looking at their NAPLAN results. Just make sure you buy/rent within the school's zone.
