Hi

I am Amit from Mumbai, India. I am coming to adelaide on 11may 08 with my spouse. Ihave been granted SIR visa. can anybody help me regarding some queries . I am looking out for rental accomodation in adelaide , how is jobs prospect in adelaide , i am from IT background and my wife is from HR field. I like to open a bank account before coming to adelaide, which would be the best bank in adelaide.

Hello Amit,

to find a rental in Adelaide have a look on www.realestate.com.au in the rental section for South Australia, or you could try a short term holiday rental to give you a definite place until you get here. Once here there is probably a bit more choice and the properties for rent are listed in the Advertiser(our local newspaper)on Saturdays. Most landlords will expect you to pay a bond usually the equivilent of two to four months rent. You get this back when you leave as long as there is no damage to the property and rent is up to date.

For jobs have a look at www.careerone.com.au .

The major banks in Adelaide are the Commonwealth, Westpac, National Australia, Bank SA, ANZ. I don't know whether they have any branches in Mumbai, but you could try googling them for info in India. Or you could open an internet account and then transfer your money to an account here when you get here. I'm sure you want to meet all types of people here, but the Indian community is growing steadily here.

Hi Amit

have you tried for On Arrival Accomadaton or is it to late for theat we tried th caravan parks as a back up their are quite a few in adelaide and the surrounding areas.

 

Morgan opened an account with west pac and has so far found them ok. No problems. The paper on a friday or sat has all the jobs in Morgan would be able to tell u.
