We started out in Morphett Vale after having stayed in Seacombe Heights ( we couldn't afford that suburb although we lived it )Lived almost on States Rd that was 1982 before it was built up but the road because a race track traffic noise was really bad in the end so we moved to Happy Valley

Before we bough we sat in the street a couple of times basically watching the flow of traffic to make sure there was no noise !

Moved twice at Happy Valley , now in UK so a different ball game but moving back in late April to Kangarilla ( now that will be a change !)

Our son has just bought on acreage so his Dad and I will do ' the grounds '

Oo I love it out Kangarilla way. We looked out that way when house hunting but nothing was on the market that was in our price range that we liked enough to want to buy. Of course, a few months after we bought (which we love and are as happy as anything with) a number came onto the market out there and around Stirling, Clarendon and so on.

It's absolutely lovely around there and suits my sons occupation he is a glazier and needs to be within 30 minutes of the southern suburbs if he gets an emergency call out Must admit lots of his contract work is in the city but he is so used to driving that doesn't bother him We ,his Mum and Dad being retired it doesn't bother us Hubby loves gardening so that will keep him occupied and having lived down south most of our socialising is done that area anyway plus all of our family live Southside lol

Sounds ideal all round. It doesn't take long at all to hit the southern suburbs and be heading anywhere from out Kangarilla way. I often drive out that way as I prefer to use those quieter roads over Main South rd any day to get down south. I love taking the country roads and seeing it all. Beats being stuck in 60kph busy traffic with endless traffic lights.

Hutt Street - Plympton Park - Modbury Heights

dont hear as much about the north east on here but we love it and hubby gets on the Obahn straight to the city in 30min each day. I work at Norwood so don't have to navigate through or round the city like previously. lots of shops, restaurants and leafy suburbs and we found our dream house more affordable compared to what we could afford west of the city.

i do sometimes miss the beach but have substituted with national parks, reserves and we can be in the Barossa in 40min, adelaide hills in about the same and semaphore in 20min so works for us

i must say though we like to make the distinction between the north and the north east - call me snobby but it's definitely not the same thing!!!
