Interstate Removals - SA to QLD

Oh my, quotes to move approx. 28 cubic m of furniture from Adelaide to Townsville region = $7k! These are 'back loaded' quotes

 

Any ideas how to do this cheaper? Thought about hiring a van/ truck but can't even find a company that does that journey one way.

Who did you get the quote from we brought a 40ft container to the uk for that amount Having said that I have been told that it's often cheaper to bring things to the uk than go interstate

As it goes we do, decided we were moving to gold coast, shopped for quotes, averages $7-8k. Looked at truck hire, avis would do it one way at a cost of $2800. Decided to self load, the winners were Pods, website below. I had a search in the office and found paperwork, container size 27m3. Total cost of move $3277.96. Hope that helps.

Ps don't do the truck thing, you can only drive 3 ton on car licence, and they get very unstable if windy.

We moved a house full of stuff with Grace Removals for $3500 inc GST. Maybe give them a call. That was Rockhampton to Adelaide, so similar distance-wise.
