torrens title

Please can anyone tell me what the 'torrens title' means when looking at real estate properties?

Torrens Title is a term used for an Allotment or house which is its own entity with direct access to the road. Most houses are Torrens Title that you will view.The term was derived many years ago as the system of property ownership in South Australia and transferring of properties is called the Torrens Sytem.

 

Generally Allotments of 350 square metres and greater you will find are Torrens Title.Torrens Title properties have Seperate Council Rates SA Water and no Common areas used by other residents.
