Onkaparinga River

With all the recent rain (and the release of water from Mount Bold Reservoir to relieve the pressure) the Onkaparinga river has been in full flow and I took an early walk down there with the dog this morning - if you've got a spare hour it's worth it. The boardwalk (Wetlands Loop Walk) is looking amazing - it's usually so dry you wonder why they bothered with the raised boardwalk but at the moment it's full. There are loads of birds swooping for the insects, waterfowl with their ducklings and the reflections are just great.

I haven't seen it so full. It really was amazing to watch....

 

On a more serious note:

I had a call today from someone from Old Noarlunga who was flooded by the Onkaparinga level.

If it had coincided with a king tide there would have been many homes flooded.
