So glad I found this site, its so friendly and helpful!

I'm Nicola and I am just in the process of preparing for my skills assessment for the 489 state sponsored visa. Just concerned about something further down the line if everything else goes well. Its to do with the visa medicals. My partner had a bout of anxiety when he was at uni and the doctor put him on tablets which he stayed on for a few years and came off in 2011. I also had a bout of anxiety when I was doing my PGCE teacher training course as I knew I had made a mistake choosing this career path but felt trapped at the time. I also went on tablets for this and came off them in 2011. Following the birth of my 2nd child in 2015 I had postnatal depression and the doctor again put me on tablets which I am still on but now I feel back to my normal self again I do want to come off these ASAP. Do you think on this basis we would fail the medicals? We are both of absolute sound minds its just life challenges us all sometime doesn't it.

I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about re medicals. They are looking for medical issues that are going to cost over X amount and I don't think this sort of thing would come close. Many people with anxiety or depression have gained visas, including myself. I had severe post natal depression and tbh for my medical my panel doctor barely registered it and said that it wasn't an issue.
