Aged parents visa 804

Can anyone offer advice please. My husband and I would like to come to Australia on the aged parents visa 804. I qualify as my daughter is a permanent resident in Australia and my son in New Zealand. I have no other family in the UK. I talked to someone who just sold up and came out then applied for the visa. They were given a bridging visa and told that it could take up to 30 years for it to be processed but there was no problem with them staying. We don't want to sell up and then find we can't get the visa and have to go back. Any information gratefully received.

I'd suggest discussing your options with a reputable migration agent as there is more than one kind of visa.
