I talked to CO by myself and for this i dont have any reference, first of all he totally told me i cant give you a time.. then in the end told me to wait for 15 months if you applied after july 2012. and i asked him the same question that this is for 6 months waiting time.. but the same answer its not in our hand....... so things are not in their hand ... like security checks, verification etc

Hi Jamil ,

My Friend applied 887 on the 2th week of Sep 2012 and got approval within 2 weeks

He is a Chinese National... Only thing CO wanted was Medicals cos he was in China for more than 3 months ..

All my friends who was in 487 and applied for 887 in 2012 got their visas .

And another thing , I also follow another forum for 887 ... a user was granted visa after 15 months ... Because his Passport was expired and CO wanted him to renew the passport that caused the issue ... Did your CO ask for any documents and did you delay your submission ??

Anyways ... Hopefully your visa is just around the corner ..

Good Luck ....

Jmail, all my friends with the same visa applied before the end of last year all got their visa approved. Maximum waiting time is around two months, so 15 months sounds weird to me. A friend told me that when she got assigned a CO and not get any updates in one month, she called some number to complain about this and got approved in a very short time. I reckon if all your materials are valid the case officier doesn't have any reason to ask you to wait for 15 months. Nowhere in the immi websites says 15 months.

Hi Guys...The timeline is not bascially timeline and Immigration is not oblieged to finalise case in 6 months times...that is just guideline...and it could take way lnghter time than what is stated on website...All cases are different so time to finalise is different as well. But average guideline(time) is 6 months...

but i still wonder that when we got TR visas...all checks were donebefore they granted the visa.. and most of the time we are in Australia...and now for PR they have to do the checks again...shouldnt it be much faster??? becasue most of the checks/requirement were already fullfilled...anyone have good reasoning :)

My thoughts exactly...

887 Visas are the easiest visa for CO to approve cos all the checks have been done in the prevoius visa grant ...

Hope immi have some good reasons for this long delay .....!!

i send email this morning to CO...

As per Immigration website processing time for 887 is 6 months. I applied application back in Dec'2012 and my Permanent residencey is yet to be finalised!!! Could you please advise what is the status and is there any paperwork/document required by immigration that i can provide expadite the process.

But this is what i get......same **** reply

Dear Sir,

The department recognises that the time taken to process your application may

be causing you concern.

We are seeking to finalise your application as soon as possible. You will

appreciate, however, that all non-citizens applying for visas to enter

Australia are considered on their individual merits and against legal

requirements set out in Australia's migration legislation.

A time frame for the finalisation of your visa application can not be provided

however if further information is required we will contact you.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Hi SRAZ ,

I know which forum you are mentioning here ... !!

Keep in mind that Mikeman had his passport renewed ... And he is the only one who had an issue with his visa rest of them got their visas

Dont let that discourage you ... keep your hopes high ... We will get our visas soon ...!!

Lets hope July is the Golden month for 887 applicants

Ohh, that's cool. Were you on 487 when you applied for 887? And did your case CO request you for medical health check? Cheers.

i was 475 when i applied 887. CO would request you for health check if you left Australia more than 1 month in 2years
