Hi all, I have query about form 80. There is a question about current employment. My wife works currently with Absolute Domestic as Domestic Cleaner in a regional area but her employer’s address of Absolute Domestic doesn’t have a regional  office, their head office is in Queensland. Will it be a issue if I declare her work in form 80 as her employers address is in Queensland, pls give me some advise seniors?

Hi Sathi, I have always understood that it is not an issue if you work for a company that is not regional as long as the actual work that you preform is done in the regional area. They look at the actual place where you have preformed the work. You will need to proof this in the documents that you will submit in your 887 application.

Thanks for your response, much appreciated.

@Sathi, who is the main applicant for your 887? As actually only the main applicant has to proof the work requirement.

But in this case, if she is a dependent applicant, I believe it will be still a good idea to proof that she only works regional

@Stellajane, I am the main applicant. My wife is secondary applicant for 887 visa .

Is it mandatory to declare her current employment in form 80 question no 19?

It has been over a year that I filled out these form 80 so please anyone correct me if I'm wrong here.

But yes, I believe you have to declare her current employment as it is a question on the form 80. Therefore, on top of it, I still think it is a good idea to proof also that she worked regional in your 887 application.

@SathiYes if the dependent applicant is working.. it is necessary to declare and obviously a  sensible thing to do else it will result  in incomplete information provided.

@Seacity112, I'm active on this forum and I try to help as much as I can, but I'm not the right person when it comes to your question. I'm not an organiser when it comes to such things, I'd rather be a follower and help out when needed.

What would you suggest in 'doing something else'?

Thanks for reply mate. So do i, kind of an active follower and supporter. What i suggest is brewing another petition or revise that old one to ask Peter Dutton to get off! The waiting time is above what  a human being can hold.

Direct option is a better one this time around.. writing a group email  to the minister - DHA  and copying the PM in that.. probably also copy a media house to get them interested in the story

With regional visas in so much of focus this issue will get some highlight..

But the trend shows that, if the documentation is correct and up to date applicants are getting grant in 12 to 16 months.. which is still on a higher side but better compared to current timeline.

@SJay interesting topic. Do you have any more information on that tax part? We know that there is the foreign investors board duty that has to be paid, and a double stamp duty when purchasing a house on a temporary visa. But what are the additional taxes on a mortgage when on a 489.  Might be interesting information to share on this forum. Thanks.

well, that summarizes what I know and on top of that, we have to pay additional duty.

Also not all banks lend for non-residents. only NAB from big four I guess. That is also with a huge deposit. So, I totally dropped the idea.
