Condition 8558 - 12 months stay in any 18 months period

Dear Friends,

Condition 8558 says a person can stay in Australia for 12 months in ‘any’ 18 months period. 

I take it that one starts counting 12 months from each entry date. The period of 18 months too starts with each entry date. 

Is this correct ?
