I have heard that Once you get PR you can apply for the FHG retrospectivley !

 

Is this true ?

 

Has anyone experienced it ??

Hello..Yes you could. Coz once we got our PR in March we applied for ours and received it within 2 weeks

It can be back dated up to receiving PR within 12 months. It will also be on the Grant value as at the date of signing the sale contract or build contract if building.

No - you have to have got PR within 12 months of buying I believe... not 2 yrs..

Maybe, you should call Revenu SA when you have PR if outside 12 months and discuss with them, you could possibly put an appeal in writing.

seems a bit unfair, we have to pay stamp duty on both our cars and on the property all in full even though we dont have PR but then we dont get the benefits, yes will try and will appeal thanks

We know the feeling, we paid stamp duty on our car and just coughed up $13,000 on stamp duty for our house and get nothing back but hey thats just our luck:wacko:

Hi Mike

 

I believe that a 176 Visa gives you Perm residence therefore if you or your spouse/partner have not owned property in Australia before you should be entitled to the grants.
